Shannon Langley

Shannon Langley ended her term of service as a mission co-worker on June 6, 2005. She is now on the staff of the General Assembly Council and is based in Louisville. To invite either Ben or Shannon to speak in your church, see their contact information on the Mission Speakers page.

Ben and Shannon Langley are mission co-workers with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) appointed jointly as assistants to the executive secretary and coordinators of U.S. mission groups and delegations with the Dominican Evangelical Church (DEC) in the Dominican Republic. Ben and Shannon are the only Presbyterians from the U.S. currently working for the DEC. They provide a link between cooperating North American churches, membership, and leadership and the members and leaders of the DEC. Their primary responsibility is to coordinate all details of U.S. mission groups and delegations.

As the coordinators of U.S. mission groups and delegations with the DEC, Ben and Shannon's main objective is to serve as bridge people between North American churches and congregations of the DEC. Their goals are to increase the effectiveness of the delegation program so that both North American visiting groups and Dominicans are satisfied with the outcome. They help both groups of churches to understand better each other's cultures, customs, and gifts as the body of Christ.

Ben and Shannon Langley.

He received an MDiv degree in Christian education and family ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Shannon is a member of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and Ben attended church with her, feeling at home with the Presbyterian understanding of mission and theology. She received her BA degree in mathematics from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and a master of secondary education in mathematics from Indiana University Southeast, New Albany, Indiana.
