The General Assembly Council of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) receives 50 percent of the Peacemaking Offering. The Presbyterian Peacemaking Program uses most of this portion of the offering. The Presbyterian United Nations Office and the Presbyterian Washington Office each receive a small portion of the offering. Guided by Peacemaking: The Believers’ Calling, General Assembly mandates, and the 2007-08 General Assembly Council Mission Work Plan, the Peacemaking Program and the other programs assist the church as it responds to the gospel call to “seek peace and pursue it.” In 2008, $1,230,920 is budgeted to be spent by General Assembly Council ministries.
