Speaking Presbyterian for church growth!

Benefits of starting here

There are many places for a Presbyterian to invest funds. There are banks and brokerage firms eager to open an account and establish a relationship.

But here, a Presbyterian investor can put his or her money to work on a mission of great importance: The expansion of the Kingdom of God and the spread of the Gospel. Learn more about the benefits.

Likewise there are many places from which to borrow funds for church expansion and renovation, the purchase of new property and facilities, or the refinancing of an existing loan. Nowhere will they speak Presbyterian quite like here.

Benefits of Investing Here

... to the Church

The Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program is dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission given it by its Lord. It helps churches grow, spread the Gospel and meet emerging mission needs in neighborhoods and communities. The money you invest becomes the resources lent to churches that are newly developing, expanding or redeveloping churches, and those who need to refinance high-cost mortgages.

The need for your investment is great. Right now, congregations are preparing to apply for loan funds. Your commitment is the cornerstone of the church's ability to respond. Your investment will help the church fulfill its promise to future generations.

... to your Church

The Presbyterian Investment & Loan Program is ready to help your church meet its unique mission challenge. For some churches that means an important renovation project. For other churches, that means the purchase of land for a new parking lot. For new church developments, it means the building of the first unit.

Whatever your church's capital needs may be, the Investment & Loan Program's response is made possible by Presbyterian investors.

Your investment will help your church, and dozens of other churches build this year. Your investment can help a church that you love build a bigger rebate -- and thereby reduce the cost of borrowing!

... to you, an investor

When you invest with the Presbyterian Investment & Loan Program, your investments earn interest. (Our interest is compounded daily. Accrued interest is paid quarterly, if you wish, or allowed to build, year after year.) The return you receive will be conservative, but the legacy you create through an investment will be great. As a result, Presbyterian congregations, presbyteries and educational institutions will grow in service for Jesus Christ.

Investments of $500 and up are welcomed. We have even received multi-million dollar investments and put the money to work growing the church. So, invest the portion of your investable resources that is best for you.

Please know that every investment, no matter how large or small, is important to the growth of the church!

Investments are available with various terms (length of investment) - from six months to five years. Each investment term can be for a fixed or adjustable interest rate. [More information]

Investments earn interest that is comparable with the return on certificates of deposit and other conservative savings instruments.

Who Can Invest Here?

  • Individual Presbyterians, either by purchasing an investment for themselves or by instructing their banker or broker to purchase an investment using IRA funds
  • Corporations that are more than 50% owned by Presbyterians.
  • Congregations of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), presbyteries, synods and General Assembly mission agencies and related bodies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Benefits of Borrowing Here

Borrowing capital funds for a church is a unique, often challenging task. Not only must a church leader negotiate the terms of a loan, he or she must also negotiate the Presbyterian system.

The Presbyterian Investment & Loan Program speaks Presbyterian. Fluently. Its officers, directors and staff have years of experience that can be delivered to your church's benefit.

Loans originated by the Investment & Loan Program use funds from the denomination's endowment, investors and banking partners. The financial terms are typically the least cost in a church's market: low interest rates, generous rebate program, no origination fees or points, and, typically, no pre-payment penalties.
